MJ Lenderman hit the stage with his band, The Wind, and damn near stole the weekend. Touring in support of his sixth studio album ‘Manning Fireworks,’ the group ripped through a powerhouse set. “Not to get ahead of myself, but I think this is gonna be the best day ever.”
A crowd favorite was the Drive-By Truckers track “Danko/Manuel,” Isbell’s song when he was with that band. It’s a sad tale written about the end of The Band as depicted in ‘The Last Waltz.’
Known for his outspoken views on politics and simply being a decent person, Isbell shined on “Save the World.” The song delves into the Uvalde school shooting and parents’ life mission to keep our children safe.
