Lewis, a former child actor, is a natural onstage: confident, charismatic, and fully commanding. Sennett, who handles guitar and shared lead vocals, is equally comfortable in his rockstar skin.
There is definitely a Dylanesque edge to his music, but it remains subtle; this is unmistakably Morby on a terrific slice of mid-American pie.
All members, past and present, are masters of their instruments. Walkenhorst is one of the best songwriters this side of Doomsville and possesses the voice to elevate those lyrics into everyman anthems.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of that debut album, and the boys decided it would be a great time to put out something new. After a fourteen-year break, they have released what could be their most mature and soulful work to date.
