Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue on Late Night with David Letterman, June 22, 2010
It was a dream realized when I snagged passes to see Letterman. He had been my most-watched late night show since college. I was to be in New York City and the planets had aligned. Having no idea who was to be on the show, I quickly confirmed. As expected, it was a terrific show. Turns out that Regis Philbin was the guest – the only guest. They talked and laughed and reminisced for quite a while.
However much I may have enjoyed the bantering between Regis and Dave, Trombone Shorty blew me away. He sang, he played the horn, he inspired!
